Blyth Spartans v Bridlington Town | Saturday, 18 April 2026 - 15:00 | League

Spartan's survival confirmation was halted at the hands of Bridlington Town, who frustrated the home side on Saturday afternoon.
The match was settled late in the second half as Stanley Hewitt struck home.
Marc Nash made two changes from last week's stalemate against Garforth Town, bringing in Andy Evans and Jordan Hickey to replace Lucas Taylor and Charlie Wood.
Blyth started the game on the front foot, pinning the Seasiders in their own half, but couldn't capitalise. The flashpoint of the first half saw Jack Foalle fouled next to the Bridlington dugout before being mauled by a member of the opponents' backroom staff, an event that was subsequently unpunished by the referee.
Tempers flared after the incident, which resulted in the visitors being reduced to 10 men in the 28th minute. Some neat play from Blyth opened the Seasiders up, and a last-man challenge on Paul Van-Zandvliet left the referee no choice but to brandish a red card for Joseph Batty.
Spartans moved through the gears in the final 15 minutes of the first half, creating multiple openings, the best of which fell to Evans, who chopped inside before unleashing a rocket off the crossbar with the rebound landing on Foalles' head, and he was also unable to convert, keeping the game level heading into the break.
Half Time: Blyth Spartans 0-0 Bridlington Town
The Seasiders had settled into a resolute shape at the beginning of the second half, making it difficult for Blyth to break down. However, the ball landed at the feet of Kyle Downey in the 55th minute, who drilled a volley just over the bar.
Bridlington looked to play on the counterattack as the game reached the latter stages. The ball was released down the left-hand side, Hewitt picked up speed and ran towards the Spartans' back line before firing a strike into the bottom corner, confirming the victory for the Seasiders.
Safety was unfortunately not mathematically confirmed at Croft Park for the final home game of the season, but Spartans should be safe barring a massive goal swing in the final game of the season when they travel to Bishop Auckland on Saturday, 25 April.
