Rio Joisce signs for Spartans

We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Blyth Spartans Academy graduate, Rio Joisce from Newcastle Blue Star!

Rio is a talented technical forward, who primarily plays on the right side of the front line.

A familiar face to the Spartans faithful, Joisce made his debut for Blyth in 2022, facing Wrexham in the FA Cup away from home. Joisce went on to become Spartans' youngest ever goalscorer, bagging against Kettering Town in 22/23.

Joisce continued to feature for Spartans across the 23/24 season, before going out on loan to North Shields and Newcastle Blue Star, then going on to join the Star permanently.

Joisce became a mainstay in the Blue Star team, impressing as Blue Star went on to reach the Northern League Division One play-off final.
