Rhys Evans Returns to Blyth
Wednesday, 3 June 2026

Blyth Spartans AFC is delighted to announce the return of 29-years-old right-back Rhys Evans from Morpeth Town.
Originally joining Spartans in the summer of 2019 after spells at Queen of the South and Newcastle Benfield, Evans quickly became a fan favourite at Croft Park - making 152 appearances for the club before departing for The Highwaymen in the summer of 2024.
A firm fan favourite with the Spartans faithful, having previously won the Green Army POTS award, Evans was elated to be back in green and white once again.
“I'm absolutely buzzing to be back. I think everyone knows the affiliation I have with this football club and its fan base. The club has been through a difficult few years but now, the club is truly back on track”.
First-team Manager Marc Nash added:
Rhys needs no introduction really, hopefully this is an indication of the improvements we are trying to make. Rhys clearly still loves this club, and after speaking to him and you know we are getting a solid, reliable player. We are delighted to have him back at Spartans.
Welcome back to Croft Park, Rhys!
