Michael Hogan re-joins Spartans
Wednesday, 11 March 2026

We are pleased to welcome back goalkeeper Michael Hogan to Spartans, bolstering our goalkeeping ranks.
Hogan first joined Blyth Spartans in 2023 following his departure from York City, going on to make a handful of appearances across the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons. The goalkeeper spent part of last campaign gaining further experience on loan with Ashington AFC and West Allotment Celtic, before spending this season with Newcastle Blue Star.
We would like to thank Newcastle Blue Star for their cooperation during this transfer.
Blyth Spartans goalkeeping coach Phil Hogg expressed his delight at the club's newest recruit:
We've built a really strong goalkeeping group at the club, but with a few injuries recently we've been left a little short in that department, bringing Michael in helps strengthen that again.
He's someone with experience of Blyth Spartans who understands the environment and what the club is about. He'll provide great support to the squad while also helping to drive standards and the development of the goalkeeping group day-to-day.
Welcome back to Blyth, Michael!
