Liam Clavering joins Spartans
Friday, 3 July 2026

Blyth Spartans are pleased to announce the signing of promising young forward Liam Clavering ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 18-year-old joins the Spartans after previously being on the books at Newcastle Blue Star, where he made his senior debut under Marc Nash after an impressive goalscoring record at youth level. The striker has also featured for the Spartans' academy, continuing his prolific form in front of goal.
After seeing much of last season disrupted by two lengthy injuries, the young forward arrives at Croft Park fully fit and eager to make his mark in green and white.
Manager Marc Nash believes Clavering has all the attributes to develop into an exciting player.
Liam has very good potential. I gave him his senior debut at Blue Star the season before last because his goalscoring numbers couldn't be ignored.
He has also featured for our academy, again scoring many goals.
Sadly, last season was a write-off with two lengthy injuries, but he's fit and ready to go and prove himself.
He still has plenty of development to do, but he's a very exciting prospect.
Everyone at Blyth Spartans would like to welcome Liam to the club and wish him every success in green and white.
