Ewan McGowan signs

Blyth Spartans AFC is delighted to announce the signing of Ewan McGowan from South Shields.

The brother of former Spartan Will McGowan - Ewan signed his first professional contract with The Mariners back in 2024, having come through their youth set up.

The 20-year-old playmaker would go onto make 20 appearances in the National League North for the South Tyneside club across the last 2 years, while also featuring for Blyth Town and Consett on loan last season.

He'd play an integral role in Consett's team throughout the later stages of the season, as they secured a top 10 finish in the NPL East.

He's a young player who's always impressed me with his technical ability and skill.

He travels well with the ball and excellent at finding pockets of space. Being left footed gives us more balance as well.

He's hungry to impress and keen to kick-start his senior career after some loan spells.
