Spartans U19's stormed into the next round of the NLFA Cup this afternoon, as they breezed past Boston United to secure a 9 (nine) - 1 victory.
The visitors opened the scoring early on, when a cross from Spartans' flank was headed into the back of the net from close range.
That lead didn't last for long though, as some good work from the young Spartans saw the ball floated across the six yard box, where a diving header from Zach Simpson levelled the game.
The floodgates would soon open up, as Ryan Ndiweni bagged a brace to put Spartans 3-1 up soon after. Striker Promise Nzumbu would make 4-1 almost immediately after, as he took the ball past the keeper to slot home.
Luke Parker would join in on the scoring right before half time, to send Spartans into the break 5-1 up.
The youngsters started the second half in exactly the same fashion as they ended the first half, with relentless pressing and an eye for goal - as the ball was won high up the pitch and fed into Promise, who bagged his second goal.
Harrison Minto then joined in the scoring, as he pounced on a loose ball from close range, after the Boston United keeper spilled Luke Parker's free kick. Minto doubled his tally soon after, as he headed home to make it 8-1.
Nzumbu would complete his hat trick to make it 9-1 and complete the route, while securing Spartans safe passage to the next round.
A huge well done to the lads for their efforts, and huge credit to Boston United's youngsters for battling until the end.
