Spartans U19s drew 1-1 with Guiseley this afternoon at Croft Park in what was a fairly even encounter.
Joe Youens put Spartans 1-0 up from the penalty spot roughly 30 minutes in to give Spartans a deserved lead. The visitors stepped up their game afterwards, forcing Max Campbell to make some decent saves. The equaliser eventually came from a corner at the back post in the second half. Spartans carved out a few chances late in the second half, but it wasn't to be.
As for the U17s, they cruised to a 5-2 victory down at Darlington to assert themselves at the top of Division H.
A goal from Rory McEvoy and a brace from Thomas Young put the lads 3-0 up at half time, before a goal from Maison Auld made it 4-0. Darlo pulled one back before Louis Atkinson made it five, but the hosts scored a late consolation goal.
The lads will once again take a break from league action next week as they compete in the FA Youth Cup - this time away to Stockton Town on Wednesday, 1st October.
