Spartans U17's secured a resounding 5-0 victory over Hartlepool United U17's yesterday - keeping the pressure up on the other 4 sides that have a chance to clinch NLFA Division H.

Forwards Rory McEvoy and Ashton Wakenshaw both netted a brace, while midfielder Joe Watson got himself on the scoresheet to make it 5-0.

Having battled for top spot with Football League side Harrogate Town for many months of the season, Newcastle Benfield (Newcastle Elite Academy), Chesterfield and Heaton Stannington (Pro:Direct Academy) have all caught up. Across their final 3 of games of the season, Spartans take on both Harrogate Town and Heaton Stannington, in games that will go a long way to deciding the eventual title winner. See league table below.

Spartans U19's were also in action yesterday, falling to a 2-0 defeat away at National League side Altrincham. With 3 games to go, it's now unlikely that the U19's will secure a 4th straight top 4 finish in the NLFA Division North.

The U19's will play their final home game of the season next Wednesday, against Hartlepool United at Croft Park, with kick off at 7pm.
