Blyth Spartans are delighted to announce that Mitchell Curry has signed following the expiration of his contract at Darlington FC. Mitchell has signed on a short term deal until January 31, 2025.
Everyone at the club would like to thank supporters of the 1899 club for help making this deal possible and the 1899 club funding has also supported other signings so far this season.
The 25-year-old started his career at Middlesbrough playing for their under-18 and under-21 sides and had loan spells at Harrogate Inverness and Gateshead before he moved to Sunderland in 2020.
He made one appearance for the Black Cats before moving across to the USA, joining Inter Miami in Florida and then Hartford Athletic in Connecticut. He has returned to the North-East and joined the Quakers as he continues his career in English football.
Last season in the National League North, Curry featured 25 times for Alun Armstrong’s side netting five times, he also missed a large part of the season between September and December due to a freak injury where he dislocated his elbow.
On the signing, Steve Howard said: “Mitch is a signing I have wanted for a long time. He is a proven goal scorer.
“That along with his work rate and overall quality, I am really excited to see him sign for us.”
Welcome to Blyth, Mitch!
