A selection of images by Bill Broadley from the New Years day encounter between Blyth Spartans and local rivals Gateshead. Blyth were looking to start the new decade with a possible double over Gatehead having taken 3 points from them on Boxing Day at the International Stadium; Gateshead were looking for revenge.
The visitors led one nil at Half time and extended there lead in the second half before two Blyth penalties in two minutes brought the hosts level thanks to C.Roberts penalty taking. Gateshead thought they had won the game after going 3-2 up in the final minutes, but not to be outdone Blyth secured the draw when Levi Amantchi calmly converting two minutes into injury time.
