Spartans fall to a narrow defeat at Whitby.
Former Spartan Mitchell Curry scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute.
Blyth made two changes to the line-up that lost 2-0 to Guiseley on Saturday. Lucas Reed and Leon Burke replaced Ben Pentland and Shay Richardson in the team.
In the 7th minute, Nicky Deverdics whipped a corner in towards Charlie Aitken at the back post but Shane Bland was able to come out to catch it.
The hosts got a chance when in the 12th minute, Layton Watts sent a free-kick into the box for captain Jassem Sukar to get on the end of but his header goes wide of the far post.
In the 14th minute, Watts went for the audacious when he tried to lob Lewis Baker in the Spartans goal but his effort went over the bar.
Spartans won a free-kick in a dangerous area in the 16th minute when Joel Holvey was fouled just outside the box. Cyril Giraud went for a shot at goal from the free-kick and forced Bland into a diving save.
Watts continued to cause problems for Blyth when in the 21st minute, he had an effort from just outside the box that was saved by Baker.
Spartans got themselves into the game and in the 24th minute, Giraud went looking to create a chance when he dribbled his way around a few players before unleashing a shot from range that went well over.
Another good chance came for Blyth in the 34th minute when Reed was fouled out wide on the left to give Spartans a free-kick. Deverdics took the free-kick short to Giraud, who ran into the box and played a ball across the face of goal that the keeper was able to block and a Whitby player was able to clear.
Spartans got their best chance of the half in the 41st minute when Giraud sent a corner into the box along the floor that somehow found its way to Aitken at the back post but his shot was impressively saved by Bland.
Whitby got the final chance of the first half when Lewis Hawkins had a strike from just outside the box that went wide of the right post.

The first chance of the second half came in the 52nd minute when Aaron Haswell mishit a shot which found its way to Sam Collins who was able to get his head on it but his effort went wide.
In the 58th minute, a Whitby corner found its way to Sukar but fortunately his shot went well over.
Whitby again put pressure on Blyth in the 61st minute when Frankie Whelan got his head on the end of a Whitby corner but his effort went wide of the back post.
The hosts took the lead in the 69th minute when former Spartan, Curry got on the end of a ball from Watts and put it in the far corner.
Blyth went looking for the equaliser and in the 80th minute, Reed got a good chance from a free-kick and his effort from just outside the box forced Bland into a diving save.
A minute later, Giraud dribbled his way into the box and managed to get a strike away from close range that was blocked by a defender and went just wide of the post.
Spartans continued their push for an equaliser in the last few minutes of the game and in the 87th minute, Burke played a ball to Aitken in the box who headed it towards second-half substitute Ryan Ndiweni, who's shot went wide of the far post.
