Redcar Athletic v Blyth Spartans | Saturday, 10 January 2026 - 15:00 | League

Hopefully third time lucky for this fixture as Blyth Spartans prepare to head to league leaders Redcar Athletic for their next NPL East match after two previous postponements.
Since the last postponement, Spartans now sit four points above the relegation zone, having only lost one in their last six and remaining unbeaten in their last five league games.
Blyth are aware of the danger their opponents pose, especially at home; however, they are playing without fear and have shown they are able to compete with any side in the league in recent weeks.

The Hosts: Redcar Athletic
Newly promoted to the league this season, Redcar Athletic have been in fine form; their free-flowing attacking play has led them to the summit of the NPL East.
Redcar are the leading scorers in the NPL East this season, having netted 117 goals in just 32 games due to their potent frontline consisting of Oscar Fletcher, Adam Boyes, as well as ex Spartans Bradley Fewster and Curtis Round.
Since the previous postponement, Redcar have extended their gap at the top of the table to 11 points and have not conceded a goal in their last five matches, showing they have quality in both boxes ahead of tonight's clash.
The Visitors: Blyth Spartans
Blyth's single-goal victory against Ossett United moved them up to 16th in the league table, the highest they have been since September.
Jack Foalle's single goal sealed the victory and moved him up to seven goals in green and white this season. He will be looking to breach the hosts' defence for the first time since January.
Marc Nash spoke about the task at hand and the threat the hosts pose going forward; however, Blyth have plenty of experience within their squad who have shown their quality over the last two months. If Spartans are to continue their great run, they will need to lean on that experience and be clinical when they have opportunities.
Last Time Out: Blyth Spartans 1-4 Redcar Athletic
The first game of the 2025/26 NPL East saw newly promoted Redcar Athletic travel to Croft Park to face Blyth Spartans, who were relegated in the previous season.
Redcar got off to a flying start, creating multiple chances that were excellently saved by Callum Dobson before the eventual breakthrough in the 20th minute, when Adam Boyes latched onto Oscar Fletcher's through ball and calmly slotted home.
Redcar doubled their lead minutes before half-time through former Spartan Curtis Round. Dane Burlace kept the ball alive and fired back across the goal with Round on hand to finish the move off.
Redcar picked up where they left off in the second period as Boyes lashed a volley past Dobson, grabbing his second and the Steelmen's third of the game.
Spartans responded well and managed to claim a consolation goal through Matty Slocombe. Some nice link-up play in midfield released Slocombe one-on-one with Josh Mazfari, and the midfielder kept his composure to fire home.
However, just minutes later, Redcar restored their three-goal advantage as Bradley Fewster latched onto Boyes' flick on and fired into the far corner, which handed Redcar a comfortable victory in Northumberland.
Team News
Paddy McClafferty and Andy Evans are the two defensive absentees for the Spartans. Forwards Michael Fowler and Noah Millington will also miss tonight's trip to Teesside through injury.
