Blyth Spartans continued their momentum and moved closer to safety after their victory over Brighouse Town last Saturday.
Late goals from Paul Dudgeon and Paul Van-Zandvliet added to Jack Vaulks' goal at the beginning of the second half to help Spartans on their way to a 3-1 victory on the road.
Another huge clash awaits Blyth as they look to close out the season on a positive note, they will be looking to make it back to back victories away from home which would be their third win out of four matches on their travels.
The Hosts: Newton Aycliffe
Newton Aycliffe sit 21st in the league table and have struggled for form over the recent months, only picking up one win in their last 11 league matches which was a thrilling 5-2 victory over Ashington.
Newton Aycliffe will be looking to inflict some revenge on Spartans after they were defeated at Croft Park earlier in the season.
The hosts' sit six points away from safety and a win against Blyth Spartans would be a huge confidence boost as they head towards the end of the season.
The Visitors: Blyth Spartans
Spartans currently sit 14th after their most recent victory over Brighouse Town, a victory that was so much more than just three points the squad battled in tough conditions and overcame a team fighting for their life at the bottom of the table to edge closer to safety.
It's now one defeat in eight for Blyth (W5 D2 L1) with that defeat coming at the hands of newly crowned champions Redcar Athletic, they have put themselves in a great position to survive a third consecutive relegation.
Blyth have become very difficult to beat in recent weeks and it has given them a platform to build from, they will need to retain that mindset when they travel to Newton Aycliffe this weekend.
Last Time Out: Blyth Spartans 2-1 Newton Aycliffe
Blyth were still awaiting their first win of the season when they welcomed Newton Aycliffe to Croft Park for a midweek clash.
It was the worst possible start for Spartans who found themselves trailing after seven minutes thanks to a Lucas Lowery wonderstrike.
However Blyth battled back and were rewarded with a goal in the 31st minute forward Jack Wilson held the ball and spun the defender before smashing home drawing the game level.
Unlike the first half Spartans had the perfect start after the break, Harvey Rudd was brought down in the area in the 49th minute, presenting Benji Shodeinde the opportunity to convert from the spot.
Shodeinde kept his composure and smashed the ball into the bottom corner which handed Blyth the lead, it could have got better for Spartans as Shodeinde found the net once again only for it to be chalked off for offside.
Despite late pressure from Newton Aycliffe, Spartans battled and held onto their lead claiming their first three points of the season under the lights at Croft Park.
Team News:
Paddy McClafferty, Michael Fowler and Noah Millington all remain sidelined for Blyth Spartans as they make the trip to Newton Aycliffe.
