Blyth Spartans travel to Lincolnshire for their next Northern Premier League East game as they prepare to face Lincoln United.
The Spartans' last result was a home defeat against Brighouse Town, with Youseff Chentouf scoring the only goal.
A six-pointer at the bottom of the table means Marc Nash's side needs to come out with a positive result to begin their climb away from the drop zone.
The Hosts: Lincoln United
Lincoln United were newly promoted to the league after becoming champions of the Premier Division North, and currently sit one place above the drop zone. The Whites will be just as eager as the Spartans to pick up a victory in this clash.
The Whites have resilience and courage on their side, a perfect mix which has helped them pick up 17 points so far this season, as shown in their most recent outing, away to Newton Aycliffe, they fell behind twice in the opening 15 minutes of the game but pulled level on both occasions to earn a well-deserved draw in County Durham.
What's at Stake
Blyth currently sit in the relegation zone with the Whites sitting one place above the drop, this clash is significant for both sides a chance for the hosts to further extend the gap between themselves and the teams battling relegation and a chance for Marc Nash to pick up his first victory in the Spartans dugout which could begin their climb away from danger in the Northern Premier League East Division.
One to Watch: Elliot Dye
The Whites' captain is a crucial part of their system, the heartbeat of the team. The tenacious midfielder has stepped up with key goals this season and has scored in back-to-back games for the home side, and will be looking to make the difference in a big clash on Saturday.
Since making his debut for the club in 2022, Dye has gone from strength to strength, eventually earning captaincy before the 24/25 season, captaining the Whites to the league title and promotion to the NPL East.
With so much at stake for both sides, the game could be won and lost in midfield. Dye will be looking to make a big impact against a resolute Spartans midfield.
