Lincoln United v Blyth Spartans | Saturday, 15 November 2025 - 15:00 | League

After an improved performance, Spartans were on the wrong side of a 1-0 defeat to Lincoln United.

The first half was a cagey affair due to the conditions of the Ashby Avenue pitch, and neither side could really get a foothold in the game; and the tail of the half was both teams cancelling each other out.

Blyth finished the half the better of the two, with a good spell in the last 15 minutes of the half. With the best chance of the game coming from Spartans, which saw Rio Joisce's shot trouble Heath Richardson in goal, but it just trickled wide of the post, denying Spartans the breakthrough.

Half time: Lincoln United 0-0 Blyth Spartans

It was the perfect start to the second half for the Whites with Connor Brown slotting home from close range after a slip from a Jack Chapman on the edge of the box, gifting Lincoln United the lead early in the second half.

Spartans were the better team after going behind, having key chances through Rio Joisce and Michael Fowler to get back on level terms, but unfortunately could not convert.

It was the same old story for Spartans, as they fell to another defeat after putting in a good showing, but just could not find the crucial goal to get back on level terms, and struggled to break down a resolute Lincoln backline.

Full time: Lincoln United 1-0 Blyth Spartans

Spartans are next in action on Saturday as they face Bishop Auckland at Croft Park at 3:00pm.
