Hallam v Blyth Spartans | Saturday, 20 September 2025 - 15:00 | League

Spartans played out a hard-fought draw in tough conditions.

The Yorkshire heavens opened and never stopped throughout the game, making it a difficult pitch for The Spartans to operate on.

Colin Myers' side started the game full of energy, pressing Hallam with intensity, not allowing them to settle into the game. Their hard work paid off as Benji Shodeinde slotted the ball home in the 12th minute, taking a nick off the defender as it travelled into the bottom corner.

Hallam responded well to falling behind and created three massive opportunities, two of which were fantastically kept out by Callum Dobson, and the other cleared off the line by Paddy McClafferty, meaning Spartans led going into the break.

Half time: Hallam 0-1 Blyth Spartans

Blyth were in for a difficult second half as they were shooting uphill, making it hard for them to create a flurry of chances as they did in the opening half.

Despite a positive start from Spartans, Hallam gained confidence through half-chances and eventually managed to convert, drawing them level in the game. Another goalmouth scramble was tapped home by Brodie Litchfield in the 70th minute.

Chances flowed for both sides, and there looked to be nothing between the two teams; however, a last-gasp winner was denied for the Spartans by Hallam goalkeeper Hugo Warhurst. An inviting cross was whipped in by Harvey Rudd, missing all the players in the box before falling to Dan Maw, who was unable to convert the late chance.
