Blyth Spartans look to continue their fight for survival with a huge six-pointer against bottom-of-the-league Brighouse Town.

Spartans' winning run at Croft Park was ended after they played out a 2-2 draw with North Ferriby last Saturday afternoon.

A victory this weekend would see them break 40 points this season and would be a huge boost as they look to cement their place in the division for next season.

The Hosts:Brighouse Town

Brighouse find themselves at the bottom of the league table after their most recent defeat away at Blyth Town.

Brighouse have not won a league fixture since November 8, when they travelled to Northumberland to face Blyth Spartans at Croft Park.

In recent weeks, their manager has departed. A victory would be huge for the hosts' confidence heading into the final games of this season, as they find themselves at the heart of the relegation battle.

The Visitors:Blyth Spartans

Blyth were unlucky not to make it five victories in a row in front of the Croft Park faithful after they were held by North Ferriby last weekend.

They remain five points clear of the relegation zone heading into this game with Brighouse, and their relegation survival hopes are very much in their hands.

Blyth's away form has been tested many times during this season, especially in recent weeks, when they overcame Ossett and narrowly lost to Redcar. They will need to continue that confidence as they prepare for a huge clash this weekend.

Last Time Out:Blyth Spartans 0-1 Brighouse Town

Marc Nash had been appointed manager in the week, building up the game, a huge game awaited with Blyth needing three points in front of Croft Park.

The first half was a fairly even contest; both sides moved the ball well but failed to create anything clear-cut. It was the away side who broke the deadlock in the 38th minute as Youssef Chentouf fired home from close range, handing Brighouse the lead heading into half-time.

Blyth improved in the second half, having a lot more of the ball with Brighouse content on holding onto the lead they had earned in the first half, but there was still no breakthrough for Nash's side.

Despite a late push from Spartans to level the game, it remained 1-0 and earned Brighouse a huge victory on the road, one they haven't been able to repeat in the league since.

Team News

Paddy McClafferty, Michael Fowler and Noah Millington all remain sidelined for Blyth Spartans as they make the trip to Brighouse this weekend.

Jordan Summerly and Nathan Kidd will also not be available for tomorrow's game.

Andy Evans has returned to training and is available for selection tomorrow.
