Blyth Spartans travel to the East Coast to face off against Bridlington Town in their next NPL East game.

Despite a much-improved performance last Saturday, it was another home defeat against Bishop Auckland, meaning Spartans now sit bottom of the NPL East ahead of this week's clash.

Spartans must change their form around, as shown last weekend, there is lots of pace and athleticism in the squad, they have the quality to compete against teams in the league; however, they have to convert performances to points as they head into a crucial and busy winter period.

The Hosts: Bridlington Town

Bridlington Town, known as the Seasiders, were founded in 1918 as Bridlington Central United before being reformed as Bridlington Town just two years later.

The Seasiders have started this season in strong form, sitting just inside the playoff spots after picking up 29 points from their opening 19 games.

Recent form has been mixed for the Seasiders, with two wins, two losses, and one draw in their last five league matches. However, they will be hoping to restore some consistency as they welcome Spartans to Queensgate.

What's at Stake

Bridlington Town will be looking to maintain their position in the play-off spots. Teams are hot on their tails with games in hand. The Seasiders will look to utilise their power and solid defensive record after already keeping nine clean sheets in the NPL East.

On the other hand Spartans are propping up the league table after disappointing defeats to fellow strugglers Lincoln United and Bishop Auckland, however the recent performance showed signs that a win may be close for Blyth but conversion is the most important factor, with lots of new signings adding a much improved creative factor to the side. Saturday is the perfect opportunity for Spartans to test themselves against a very strong opposition to end their five match winless run.

One to Watch: Tom Allan

The towering centre back has been a crucial part of the Seasiders' defence after being retained for the 25/26 campaign, and has helped them to nine clean sheets so far this season.

The commanding defender poses a real aerial threat, as shown in the Seasiders' last two matches against Bishop Auckland and Brighouse Town, Allan scoring in both matches from set pieces, which could be a deciding factor in the match.

A threat in both boxes makes Allan a dangerous opponent and someone that Spartans will have to manage efficiently if they are to take anything from the trip to the East Coast.

Team News

Jack Foalle misses Saturday's game due to suspension; on the other hand, Jack Vaulks returns to the squad after serving his three-game suspension. Besides that, Marc Nash has a full squad to pick from.
