Bridlington Town v Blyth Spartans | Saturday, 29 November 2025 - 15:00 | League

Spartans bounced back from derby-day disappointment in emphatic fashion, claiming all three points on the road with a convincing 4-1 victory over Bridlington Town.
The Seasiders came into the contest on the back of four consecutive defeats and sitting 12th in the NPL East table, while Spartans arrived rooted to the foot of the division.
Despite their league position, it was the visitors who made the brighter start and ultimately took control of the contest.
The opening ten minutes were largely cagey, with neither side able to impose themselves. Spartans soon began to grow into the game, however, and almost took the lead when Michael Fowler slipped Jack Foalle in behind the defence. One-on-one with the goalkeeper, Foalle attempted an audacious lob which narrowly grazed the crossbar.
Foalle was not to be denied for long. On 15 minutes, Jordan Summerly delivered a delightful ball down the left to Fowler, who picked out Foalle with a pinpoint cross. The forward made no mistake, blasting home to give Spartans a deserved lead.
Bridlington responded ten minutes later, Michael Coulson levelling the scores with a low-driven effort that beat Dobson and found the bottom-right corner.
Parity lasted just ten minutes. Summerly was again the architect, this time finding Simpson, whose cushioned header across goal allowed Foalle the simplest of finishes to restore Spartans' advantage and secure his second of the afternoon.
Foalle came close to completing a first-half hat-trick on the stroke of half-time, racing through on goal after a superb pass from McClafferty, only to be denied by the Bridlington goalkeeper. His performance in the opening 45 minutes was a testament to his relentless work rate and attacking threat.
Half time: Bridlington Town 1-2 Blyth Spartans

Despite holding a narrow lead, Spartans emerged with real intent after the break. On the hour mark, Marc Nash turned to his bench, introducing Noah Millington and Rio Joisce - a decision that paid dividends almost immediately.
Just ten minutes later, Millington glided past his man and delivered a dangerous ball to the back post, where Joisce was on hand to tap into an empty net and open his account in Spartans colours.
Millington continued to cause problems down the left and again picked out Fowler with a sumptuous cross. Fowler took a touch before shooting, allowing the goalkeeper to smother the effort when a fourth goal looked inevitable.
The fourth did arrive late on, though, as Fowler made amends from the penalty spot after Joisce was brought down in the area. Fowler calmly slotted into the bottom-right corner to seal a comprehensive away victory and put the result beyond doubt.
