Blyth Spartans head to West Yorkshire for their next NPL East game as they prepare to face Bradford (Park Avenue).

The sides have already met this season, with Spartans losing out 1-0 after conceding late on in the game.

However, Spartans, now under new management and with a much-changed side compared to the last outing, will be looking to get revenge on Saturday afternoon.

The Hosts

Bradford (Park Avenue) find themselves in the play-offs, currently sat in fourth place, winning just one of their last four league matches.

That win came in their last outing, a 3-0 win against Bishop Auckland, which ended a run of three games without a win.

With teams below them having games in hand, the hosts will be desperate to gain some momentum in this busy winter period to maintain the positive start they have had to the season so far.

The Visitors

Blyth Spartans also find themselves on a poor run of form, having not won a game in all competitions since October.

After last week's game against Bridlington was postponed, the side has had plenty of time to rest and recover as they look to kickstart their season tomorrow.

It will be a difficult test for the visitors, as they experienced when they last faced the West Yorkshire outfit; they will have to be clinical if they are to come away with something from this clash.

Last time out: Blyth Spartans 0-1 Bradford (Park Avenue)

The last time these sides faced each other, Bradford (Park Avenue) were top of the NPL East, and Spartans had picked up seven points in their four league matches, building up to the game.

Spartans performed well on the day, creating better chances in the first half, but they were unable to convert, meaning the sides were level at halftime.

More sustained pressure in the second half saw more chances fall at the feet of Spartans players, but with no conversion, it looked like nothing was going to be able to separate the sides.

But it was the visitors who were clinical on the day. A long ball in behind the Spartans' defence was latched onto by Louie Chorlton, whose initial effort was blocked and then turned in on the rebound, meaning the three points were taken back to West Yorkshire.

Team News

Jack Foalle is still to serve his suspension due to the game against Bridlington being postponed last week. Jack Vaulks will also be available to return to the squad in this game after he served his three-match suspension. Apart from that, there are no other injury concerns within the squad for Marc Nash.
