Blyth Spartans turn their attention to Senior Cup action in the rearranged fixture against Blyth Town.
The Spartans will be hoping for an extended cup run in this competition after disappointing first-round exits in the FA Cup and FA Trophy.
Colin Myers' side had previously found some form in the league before Saturday's home defeat to Ossett United, but will be looking to bounce back against local opposition.
Squad Information
The Spartans squad will be rotated because only players who were registered before 30th September, which was the date of the first game, will be eligible to play, and some new signings are also cup-tied.
The Opposition:Blyth Town FC
Blyth Town Football Club were established in 1995 as a junior football club; they became a senior club in 2002, where they entered the Northern Alliance League.
The Town were the first club in the North East to receive Community Charter Standard Status. They had a sustained period of success in the Alliance Leagues, winning Division Two and also the Premier Division for three successive years.
The men's first team broke away to become a separate organisation, which was called Blyth AFC. However, despite gaining promotion to the Northern League, they folded due to a lack of support
Blyth Town FC were elected into the Northern League in 2021. The Town were Division Two champions in 2023/24 and managed back-to-back promotions last season as they defeated Shildon and Newcastle Blue Star in the Division One play-offs to reach the Northern Premier League East Division.
From the Dugout
The Town have joint managers sharing the dugout with one change from the postponed game between the sides back in September, as Michael Connor returns to accompany Gavin Fell in the dugout
Fell is a very experienced coach who has previously spent time at Blyth Spartans, as well as spells at Spennymoor Town and New Hartley.
The four-time FA Vase winner took over from Connor in the Town dugout and has led them to back-to-back promotions and a historic rise to step four in the non-league pyramid.
Michael Connor had previously spent 16 years at Blyth Town before being appointed Spartans manager in the 2024/25 season.
What has been said?
Colin Myers spoke after the Spartans' defeat on Saturday against Ossett United.
Here's what was said:
" Ultimately, it's disappointing. The result is disappointing, everybody's gutted, the players are gutted, we've conceded two sloppy goals and defending has been one of our strengths in the last couple of games.
Two lapses in concentration for their goals, and I think we lacked quality in the final third today as well.
We need more quality, we need to be better in the final third, we know how important today's game was, and we haven't been able to pull it off on the day. "
