Blyth Spartans v Ossett United | Saturday, 25 October 2025 - 15:00 | League

A close encounter at Croft Park ended in defeat for The Spartans, another late goal was the difference between the sides despite a valiant fightback in the second half from the hosts.

Spartans were looking to build on momentum gained in their last two outings picking up four points in games against Emley AFC and Matlock Town, Spartans started the game fast and looked bright in the opening stages without having any clearcut opportunities.

However, Ossett opened the scoring through Jack Crook in the 32nd minute, a chance which was created from nothing was smashed into the bottom corner by the forward leaving Spartans trailing at the break.

Half time: Blyth Spartans 0-1 Ossett United

A positive start to the second half was rewarded as substitute Arran Wearmouth was fouled in the box, Addis Dore stepped up to smash the penalty home into the top corner on his first league start for the club drawing Spartans level in the 63rd minute.

Spartans confidence was growing in the game and some more sustained pressure was placed on the visitors however a similar story to the first half meant the hosts were unable to capitalise.

In the 86th minute the visitors regained the lead after a lengthy break in play which saw Wearmouth stretchered off with a bad injury, the lapse in concentration from the Spartans defence allowed Samuel Pashley to strike home, handing Ossett United all three points.
