Blyth Spartans v Brighouse Town | Saturday, 8 November 2025 - 15:00 | League

Marc Nash fell to defeat in his first home game at Croft Park as Blyth Spartans boss, with his side losing 1-0 to Brighouse Town in the Northern Premier League East.
There was a positive atmosphere around Croft Park following a hard-earned point away to North Ferriby, with the squad boosted by three new signings and the arrival of new manager Marc Nash, who hoped to turn the club's season around.
The game started evenly, with both teams creating a few half-chances but nothing too significant.
The visitors took the lead just before the break, with in-form winger Youssef Chentouf firing home from close range to give Brighouse the advantage heading into half-time. The goal came after a period of Blyth dominance, as they had penned Brighouse in but were unable to find the breakthrough during those 15 minutes.
Half time: Blyth Spartans 0-1 Brighouse Town

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Town content to sit deep, defend, and invite Blyth forward. The visitors nearly doubled their lead when Andy Evans gave the ball away to Nathan Curtis just outside the box, sending the forward through on goal, but his effort was poor and drifted well wide of the far post.
Brighouse defended resolutely in the second half, limiting Blyth to minimal chances. Captain Harvey Booth was at the heart of their defence, heading away everything that came his way to preserve his team's lead.
Despite a late surge from the Spartans, Nash's side couldn't find an equaliser. The manager used all his available substitutes in search of a goal, but Brighouse held firm to claim all three points.
Full time: Blyth Spartans 0-1 Brighouse Town
