Blyth Spartans look to continue their good form in cup competitions this season as they welcome 1874 Northwich to Northumberland for the FA Trophy First Round Qualifying.
Spartans were heavily beaten by Consett on Tuesday night and will see this weekend as an opportunity to put things right with two home games in the space of three days starting with the welcome of Cheshire outfit 1874 Northwich.
Zach Simpson and Lucas Taylor scored for Blyth on Tuesday and have staked their claim to be included in Saturday's starting lineup after some positive cameos from the bench.

The Visitors: 1874 Northwich
1874 Northwich, also known as The Greens play in the Northern Premier League West Division and currently sit in 15th place.
The Greens have won one of their opening three league fixtures against Chasetown, but similar to Spartans have struggled when travelling losing both of their away fixtures so far this season.
The Cheshire side's most recent fixture was their FA Cup replay on Tuesday, they travelled to Horbury Town and were defeated 1-0 after a late Aaron Fell strike was enough to separate the sides.
From the Dugout: Rory Fallon
Rory was appointed manager of 1874 Northwich in June 2026 ahead of this year's campaign after gaining a reputation across the North West Non League scene.
Fallon previously managed Wythenshawe Town helping them reach the Northern Premier League West Division in 2025 with his team building and attacking style of play attracting The Greens to hire him this summer.
Rory also played for a number of clubs in the North West Non League divisions, featuring for FC United of Manchester and a spell at 1874 Northwich so he already had a connection with the club before stepping into the dugout ahead of this season.

This copy includes the story of Spartans 1977/78 FA Cup clash with Wrexham which ended up in a replay at St James’ Park in front of over 42,000 spectators.
Our cup story so far this season after two huge FA Cup wins against Newcastle Blue Star and Morpeth Town with the opportunity to continue that against 1874 Northwich.
