Team News

Harry Gardiner has been passed fit and will be apart of the match day squad. Joe Oliver who was withdrawn at half time against Mickleover is expected to be fit. Zach Simpson faces a period on the sidlines with the shoulder injury that forced him off last weekend.

What We're Saying

After our victory against Mickleover, Michael Connor said: “Nathan said something in the changing rooms before the game about getting bodies behind the ball and working hard.

“I spoke about work rate and bravery and we went with Nathan's setup to try something different today and we tried to be as positive as we could be.

“Look at the result, that was for the fans. That is for the people who backed us, travelled with us, suffered the defeats with us.”

Opposition

Newly appointed manager Willis Francis and assistant manager John Ramshaw will take their first game in charge on Saturday against Spartans since being appointed and new club chairman David Lilley will oversee his first game since taking control of the club.

Basford also have a number of new faces on the pitch. Jamie Williamson, Theo Hudson, and Rhys Sharpe have all joined the club in the last few days, and Daniel Adiefeh has joined on loan from Notts County until the end of the season.

In the league standings, they sit one place above Blyth in 21st, having not won a league game since November 12, 2024. Last time out, they suffered a 1-0 defeat to league leaders Macclesfield.

Last Time We Met

Earlier in the season, Basford enjoyed a 2-0 win at Croft Park as Ashley Williams scored twice.
