Blyth Spartans can confirm that Louis Stephenson has joined the club on a short term loan deal from Hartlepool United.
The 18-year-old defender began his playing career at Pools and made his debut in an FA Cup Second Round victory over Harrogate Town in November 2022.
In December 2023 he scored his first senior goal during a 5-1 win in the FA Trophy away to City of Liverpool and he made his league debut for the club against Oldham Athletic in the National League, before signing his first professional deal on December 29, 2023.
Since his promotion to the first team, Stephenson has played 26 times for Hartlepool across all competitions, including the Vanarama National League, FA Cup, and FA Trophy.
He is eligible for our league fixture against Stockton Town this evening and is in contention to make his debut for the club.
On his arrival, David Stockdale said: “Louis is a coup for Blyth after higher clubs being interested, and his quality is a great addition for the team.”
Welcome to Blyth, Louis!
