Stephen Turnbull’s appearance as a second half substitute in yesterday’s defeat to North Ferriby United saw the popular midfielder make his 100th appearance for the club.
Signed originally by Mick Tait folloiwng his release by Gateshead, Turnbull made his Spartans’ debut in the 1-1 draw with AFC Telford on the opening day of the 2009-2010 season and scored his first goal in a 4-0 Senior Cup win over North Shields, a game with saw Ste claim the matchball with a hattrick.
In his 100 appearances Stephen has scored an impressive 16 goals – including two goals in the nine games since his return to the club following a spell playing in Australia.
