Spartans will take part in “National Non League Day” when Grantham Town come to Croft Park for an Evo-Stik Northern Premier League fixture next Saturday. The annual event will see a whole host of clubs across the country celebrating and promoting all that is great about the Non-League game and Spartans have planned a number of events and activities going on during the day.

They are as follows:

– At tomorrow’s home game with Matlock Town everyone attending will receive a ticket for a special prize draw with the first three tickets drawn winning a pair of tickets for the Sponsors Lounge for the Grantham Town game

– A number of Spartans legends have been invited as guests of the club to the game and will be paraded on the pitch before the game kicks off

– We are celebrating the club’s community work with two very special young mascots Cory Davison and Callum Brown leading the team out onto the pitch

– We have invited two local junior sides to entertain the crowd at half time with a small sided game

– Spartans supporter Ken Sproat will be in the Social Club before and after the match to showcase his new book “We’re the famous Blyth Spartans”, a comprehensive history of the club and the characters who have moulded our history

– Radio Northumberland will be broadcasting live from Croft Park from 1pm talking to supporters and people around the club about what makes non-league football special. They will once again be provided live coverage of the game from 2.30pm with build up and uninterrupted coverage of the match

– Our usual half time draw will take place with an added bonus, along with the usual cash prize the winning ticket will win a Spartans shirt signed by the whole squad and the coaching staff

Further details about Spartans support of Non-League Day will be announced in the run up to the game. We look forward to seeing everyone connected with the club helping us celebrate everything that is great about the Non-League game.
