Spartans midfielder Ben Sayer has left the club and signed for Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North side Spennymoor Town
Sayer, who signed for Spartans from Northern League side Team Northumbria made the switch on Friday after discussions with manager Tom Wade, who explained that the move was a shock so early in the season.
“It’s a surprise when players want to leave a club after just seven games. You would hope they would roll up their sleeves and fight for their place in the side but when players don’t want to be at a club sometimes it’s best for everyone involved to let them go. Everyone at the club wishes Ben all of the best with the move to Spennymoor Town”
