Blyth Spartans are delighted to confirm that midfielder Nicky Deverdics has signed a new one-year contract.
Deverdics re-joined Spartans last summer after 10 years away from the club and proved an indispensable part of the side, making 43 appearances for the club as Blyth successfully avoided relegation and won the Northumberland Senior Cup.
Upon signing his new deal Deverdics said, “It’s great to be back for another season. We’ve kept the core of the group and made a couple of good signings so far. Hopefully we can look forward to a more consistent season.”
Manager Terry Mitchell was delighted to be keeping such an experienced player, “He’s been a professional and he’s got that vital experience to help our younger players. He’s versatile and his dead ball delivery is fantastic.
I’m really happy he’s signed for next season. Nicky’s knows what the club’s about, he knows what it means to the supporters. Every time he steps on the pitch he gives you everything.”
