News | Blackett recalled by Gateshead

Paul Blackett will return to Gateshead in the New Year after the Tyneside club exercised an option to recall him from his loan in January.

During his time at Blyth Spartans, Blackett scored six times in 10 appearances.

Blackett said: “I want to thank everyone at Blyth for making me feel so welcome.

“I’d also like to thank the gaffer for giving me the opportunity to play, which I’m very grateful for.

“I wish everyone involved with the club all the very best for the rest of the season.”

Michael Nelson, manager of Blyth Spartans, added: “He ran his heart out and showed great quality when he was on the pitch. He was also a great influence around the dressing room.

“He was a great person to have at the club and will be missed. I wish him every success in the future”

Blackett is unavailable to play against Blyth when the two sides meet at the International Stadium on Saturday.

The club would like to place on record its thanks to Paul and wish him the very best for the future.
