TEAM NEWS
Blyth Spartans welcome Stafford Rangers to Croft Park on Saturday looking to get back to winning ways – after a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Shaw Lane on Tuesday evening in the Integro Doodson Cup. Meanwhile, Stafford got an impressive 2-1 victory against Hednesford Town after extra time in their Buildbase FA Trophy replay on the same night.

Spartans had named a much-changed line-up to the side that snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against Halesowen Town in that defeat to Shaw Lane, so players missing midweek will look to return to the squad for this important league game.

Blyth lie one point behind Evo-Stik Premier League leaders Whitby Town after 18 games, but boast a significantly better goal difference. Saturday’s opponents currently occupy 16th position, with just five wins from their 17 games so far this season.

Rangers come into this game with a nine-match unbeaten run under their belts, but Spartans will look to bring this to an abrupt end – as they try to extend their own six-game unbeaten league run.
