He returned to Gateshead ahead of the 2019/20 campaign for his second season as a professional and successfully transitioned from midfield to become a key part of Mike Williamson’s defence.
Forbes was forced to miss the vast majority of Gateshead’s 2021/22 title-winning National League North season due to injury.
He then spent the early proportion of last season on loan at Spennymoor Town where he made eight appearances for The Moors.
Forbes is available for selection in tonight’s fixture away to Scarborough Athletic.
Welcome to Blyth Spartans, Elliot!
