The club can announce that Jordan Mellish has left the club to join South Shields. The central defender joined almost a year ago from Hartlepool United and went on to make 24 appearances for the Spartans, scoring 1 goal. The club can announce that it has registered two new players in midfielders Scott Canham and Matthew Wade. Canham, 18, started his career at Sheffield Wednesday, before signing for Newcastle Benfield in the Northern League – He has also represented England at youth level. Spartans midfielder Jack Stanger has been selected by the England Colleges squad following his recent trials. The former Consett player was successful in advancing through the North East and Northern England trials and travelled to Telford to take his place alongside thirty two other hopefuls. Following a pitch inspection at 8.30 this morning todays match against FC United of Manchester is definitely ON. The Club would like to thank match referee Elton Martin for inspecting the pitch early today and volunteer grounsman Peter Henderson for his work over the last few days in fitting overnight covers at the Plessey Road end goal mouth.
Due to the current cold spell, there will be a pitch inspection at 9am on Saturday morning. The result of the inspection will be published here as soon as it is known.
