Blyth Spartans’ renowned FA Cup history is given pride of place in the new National Football Museum.
The Museum, based in Manchester, opened its doors five months ago and is home to over 140,000 items. It explores football – past and present-through world class exhibitions, looking at the game from every angle.
One exhibition termed ‘Cup Magic’ includes seven separate stories/videos about the FA Cup competition and each video is activated by pressing a button.
The one featuring the Spartans is just over two minutes long and the overall story is about how the club have been giant-killers many times in the FA Cup. It focuses on the Cup runs of 1977/78 and 2008/9.
Entry to the Museum is free and it is open Monday to Friday between 10am and 5 pm and on Sunday between 11am and 5pm.
