Former Carlisle United goalkeeper Alex Mitchell has become Blyth Spartans’ sixteenth signing of the summer. Mitchell, 30, arrives at Croft Park having made over 160 appearances for Scottish League Two side Annan Athletic. He started his career at Carlisle as a scholar and was a member of the squad that famously beat Manchester United in the FA Youth Cup in 2007/08. Pre-season 21/22 | Middlesbrough friendly confirmed

Arrival | Cameron Painter joins Spartans

Blyth Spartans AFC is pleased to announce the signing of Cameron Painter.  Painter, a young midfielder from Hartlepool, arrives at Croft Park having spent two years at Grimsby Town in the Football League.  Last season, the 19-year-old was loaned to Northern Premier League South East side Spalding United before the Covid-19 pandemic brought it to a premature end.  He becomes Michael Nelson’s 15th signing of the summer as preparations continue…

Blyth Spartans AFC announces five pre-season friendlies, as Michael Nelson’s side prepare for the 2021/22 National League North campaign.
