Tony Platten and Ian Evans represented Blyth Spartans at the Official Bid submission publicity event at St James Park today (Friday 14th May). Presentations were given by the leaders of the bid team outlining the significance of football in England and the benefits that would accrue to England and the North East if the bid was successful.
The publicity event was timed to coincide with the submission of the official bid documents with FIFA in Switzerland and Peter Beardsley formally received a copy of the bid document on behalf of NewcastleGateshead.
Blyth are an Official Partner in the bid offering training facilities for a locally based national team.
Blyth will be making use of the publicity to advertise the newly refurbished Social Club Sports Bar prior to the start of this year’s 2010 World Cup which is to be held in South Africa. Watch out for further details.
