Pre-season 21/22 | Middlesbrough friendly confirmed

Blyth Spartans AFC is pleased to be welcoming Middlesbrough under-23s to Croft Park on Saturday, July 17th for a pre-season friendly.

The visit of Boro is the first home friendly of the club’s pre-season programme as Michael Nelson’s side prepare for the 2021/22 National League North campaign. Kick-off is 3pm.

It is hoped supporters can be present inside Croft Park for the first time since February 2020. Admission details will be announced closer to the time.

Nelson said: “I’d like to say a massive thank you to Middlesbrough for sending a team up to play us.

“We’ve maintained a good relationship with the club on the back of loaning Zach Hemming a couple of seasons ago.

“I look forward to seeing our lads test themselves against quality and promising opposition.”

Blyth last faced Boro four years ago, running out as 4-2 winners following goals from Dan Maguire, Robbie Dale, Dale Hopson and Jordan Laidler.
