Blyth Spartans are delighted to announce that Daniel Maguire has been awarded the Port of Blyth Player of the Month award for March.

The Spartans made a stuttering start to the month, with a disappointing defeat at Sutton Coldfield Town. However, that would be the only low point for Alun Armstrong’s side – as they went unbeaten for the rest of the month.

Blyth recorded heavy victories over Frickley Athletic and Skelmersdale United, either side of an impressive away draw at Buxton – after fighting back from a two-goal deficit to grab a share of the spoils. Another vital away point was gained at promotion rivals Nantwich Town, before Spartans ended the month with late drama in their 2-1 win over Rushall Olympic.

Maguire continued his fantastic run of form that had seen him claim the Port of Blyth Player of the Month award for February, which makes him the first player to claim back-to-back triumphs this season.

Maguire will receive his award prior to the game against Whitby Town at Croft Park on April 17.
