Spartans won only their second away game of the whole campaign across in Cumbria on Saturday.
After their woeful effort against Droylsden less than 48 hours earlier – the performance on Saturday was back to that shown in the FA Cup run.
Good play down the right wing by Shaun Reay pick out Marc Walton in the penalty area, he passed to Robert Dale who shot just past the goal.
From a Gareth William’s corner Dale flicked the ball down the Adrian Webster whose effort was turned around by keeper Adam Collin.
The only effort by the home side came after 25 minutes. Gareth Arnison’s corner met at the near post by Kyle May but went wide.
Spartans got the all important break through 8 minutes into the second half. Gary Brown releasing Anthony Shandran who calmly ran on to beat Collin from inside the area.
Spartans had 2 good chances to increase their led. Brown finding Dale down the left wing, he beat 3 defenders before playing the ball back to Walton his shot was blocked with the ball breaking loose to Chris McCabe, his shot going into the side netting. Then in injury time Dale again set up Walton but Collin was equal to his first time effort.
