Blyth Spartans are to host a launch night for Ken Sproat’s soon to be released book “We’re the famous Blyth Spartans”. The event will take place on Thursday 14th November and will take place at the Spartans Social Club at Croft Park. The club are inviting supporters and local and national press to attend the event with doors opening at 7pm. Radio Northumberland’s Jonny Hall and Spartans Senior Press Officer Mark Carruthers will be hosts on the night as they talk to Ken about the process of putting “We’re the famous Blyth Spartans” together and what the book has meant to him. There will be an opportunity for Ken to take part in a Q and A with the gathered audience too.

There will be several special guests on the night as well. The club are inviting some former Spartans players to discuss their time at the club and just what their time at Croft Park means to them. The current crop of Spartans will be represented too as manager Tom Wade and a member of his squad will be attending and will be talking about the club’s impressive start to the new campaign.

After years of painstaking research Sproat has put together the first comprehensive history of Blyth Spartans AFC featuring everything from FA Cup runs to League title wins and everything in between. However the book reaches far beyond the interests of the Green Army with many of the fascinating stories contained involving professional and semi professional club around the country.

Copies of the book will be available for order on the night and you can get your hands on what will be a compelling read for football fans, no matter who you support.

We invite Spartans fans, football fans and the media to attend the launch night for Ken Sproat’s “We’re the famous Blyth Spartans”. We look forward to seeing you there.
