Defender Jordan Watson and the versatile Damen Mullen became the latest Blyth Spartans players to commit to the club for next season.

Watson joined Spartans in August 2014 with the club facing a defensive crisis and went on to become a key part of the FA Cup and Evo-Stik NPL play-off push.

The former Sunderland youngster had his season curtailed after undergoing a hernia operation but has quickly set his sights on returning fitter and stronger next season.

“I feel like I have already had my summer break after my operation and I can’t wait to get the all clear from the surgeon next week so I can set my mind on the start of pre-season”

Mullen was also looking forward to the return to pre-season training and believes that the foundations are in place for another successful campaign at Croft Park.

“I never considered leaving after the season we have had and I am delighted to be staying. It’s a great dressing room and I don’t see why we can’t improve upon the success we had last season”
