Spartans manager Tom Wade has been issued with a challenge but it’s nothing to do with on field matters. In fact Wade has been in demand after being nominated by both his sister and Spartans official Supporters Club Chairman Iain Charlesworth to take on the ALS Ice Bucket challenge that has been taken by the likes of David Beckham, Ant and Dec and Steven Gerrard.
The challenge will take place outside of the Supporters Club Store at 2.15pm, just before Bank Holiday Monday’s Evo-Stik Northern Premier League fixture with Whitby Town at Croft Park.
Wade urged supporters to donate to the challenge and revealed the charity is close to his heart. “This is a charity that all of my family hold close to our hearts. We lost our Mam to Motor Neurone Disease so I would love to see supporters of Spartans backing it and donating to a great charity”
However there was a warning from Wade prior to the challenge as he said “I have to admit I haven’t decided which three people I will nominate to take on the challenge as yet but maybe a few people at the club should prepare themselves”
