Vacancy for Programme Editor

Workington Programme Cover 2012/13Blyth Spartans are looking for a new voluntary Programme Editor for the 2013/14 season.

This role will see you incorporated into a thriving – and ever improving – media department. This makes it an ideal position for anyone with a keen interest in football or someone who is interested in getting into media – be it as a journalism student or otherwise.

Responsible for every home matchday programme, the role brings with it a lot of free reign. While there are compulsory aspects that have to be included, there is the scope to include anything else Spartans-based which you feel would help build up your portfolio.

Our departing Editor chose to design all of the pages on Adobe Photoshop, conduct player interviews and sub copy from other contributors. This shows the level of free reign you have with the role (please be aware that you do not have to design the pages, unless you wish to.)

With the role being unpaid, the Programme Editor also enjoys free entry to both home and away games – as well as complimentary travel on the team coach.

Our only requirements is that you are comfortable with deadlines, are able to proof read copy, can attend monthly Supporters’ Club meetings – usually held before home games – to update your progress and are enthusiastic to take the programme in a new direction .

To apply, or to find out more about the role, please e-mail davewall_spartans78@hotmail.com
