Tom talks – after the Ashton game

Manager Tom Wade was left reflecting on yet another drawn game after seeing his side draw 1-1 with Ashton United on Tuesday.

“We actually deserved to win,” he said. “Yes it was a point but some of the other recent draws we should have lost and some we should have won. We had chances to win this game but we sometimes show a lack of experience to see games through but that will come towards the end of the season and we will be better and stronger next season. A lot of the lads will be going in to next season after a couple of years at the club so there will be improvements.

“In terms of Ashton, they have been on a great run after spending quite a bit of money on players. If you look at their team you’ll see they are all very experienced players – no kids, but we gave them a footballing lesson and that is something really positive to take from the game.”

Wade reported that he should have a full squad, other than Ryan Hutchinson, available for the Easter weekend games when supporters can expect a degree of player rotation.
