Following on from the pre-match release about supporter behaviour at Blyth Spartans’ FA Cup Third Round tie with Birmingham City General Manager Ian Evans reported that both the FA observer and the Officer in charge for the police at yesterday’s game gave both sets of supporters a “clean bill of health” once the final whistle was blown.
“Apart from one minor issue, which was not the fault of the supporters but one of an organisational point of view, both the FA and the police were more than happy with how the day went on Saturday”
“I have to say that we, no the supporters, achieved what I requested ” added Evans. “We all put on a show yesterday didn’t we?”
Evans also went on to praise a number of the club’s volunteers who played key roles in the preparations for the big game in the weeks before and on the day itself.
“I would just like to mention Colin Blackett, Steve Ord, Doug Ramsey?. Ted Lock and Peter Henderson who all put in a shift leading up to and including Saturday’s game”
“Finally however a big thank you to the 3, 644 of you in attendance yesterday. Roll on the next one I say!”
