Spartans vs Skelmersdale United Programme Preview

Spartans are tonight visited by table-toppers Skelmersdale United in their return to Croft Park.

Blyth haven’t played a home match since the 3-0 victory over Darlington 1883 in the FA Cup way back in mid-September. The last league match they hosted was the Non-League Day visit of Buxton on 6 September.

Before Saturday’s narrow defeat in Leicestershire against Barwell, Spartans were unbeaten in seven games in league and Cup, and will be looking forward to attempting to continue their excellent form tonight against a side they’ve already faced twice this season.

The 1-0 defeat and the 4-1 FA Cup win both took place at the West Lancashire College Stadium in Skelmersdale, where Spartans proved they are more than a match for United, who could extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points with a win this evening.

The return to Croft Park gives supporters a chance to catch up on the latest interviews, round-ups, and other features by buying tonight’s official matchday programme.

Inside, September’s Port of Blyth Player of the Month Jarrett Rivers takes on a supporter and a member of staff in this evening’s Question Time in a bid to give the players a lead in the season’s points tally.

Mark Carruthers has been speaking to Blyth defender Jordan Watson on his opening few months at the club, and fans can enjoy the best from Twitter this week in a new feature.

Tom Wade, Malcolm Stephenson and opposition supporters all have special mentions for the travelling Green and White Army of supporters who have been on the road constantly in the last month, too.

Tonight’s game should be an exciting one and, like the programme, isn’t to be missed!

Fans can purchase the programme for £2 from the usual places.
