The U10s went into this game quite confident against a team who hadn’t won a game all season. However, I’m not sure if this confidence translated into nerves during the first quarter as this was fairly even until Besty got a goal near the end.
However, the second quarter saw us take charge as Besty got another with Lewis P also getting one. At the restart from this goal, our defence were asleep as Whitley Bay attacked and scored. The quarter finished with Lewis P getting another for Spartans to lead 4-1.
Whitley Bay did not sit back and they scored next in the third quarter, before Besty went on the rampage and scored another four as Spartans better fitness and passing made more opportunities.
The last quarter saw Besty get another two (eight in the match) and one for Brooklyn. Even putting Besty into defence did not stop him pushing forward looking for more. All credit to Whitley Bay, who never let there heads drop and even in the last quarter were still attacking and trying to get another goal.
