The Spartans coaching staff and members of the club’s Media team are coming together to raise money and awareness of testicular and prostate cancer. Yes, it’s nearly Movember and Spartans are taking part in the annual event for the first time. Manager Tom Wade, Assistant Manager Colin Myers and Goalkeeper Coach John Bottensien are representing the coaching staff and throwing away their razors for all of November. Three members of the Media Team are also taking part as Head of Media Phil Castiaux, Senior Press Officer Mark Carruthers and Programme Editor Adam Sancaster all join in the fundraising.

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world. With their “Mo’s” men raise vital funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer and mental health. As an independent global charity, Movember’s vision is to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health. Movember challenges men to grow a moustache for the 30-days of November, thereby changing their appearance and the face of men’s health.

Spartans manager Tom Wade said “There are people inside the club who have seen members of their families or friends diagnosed with either testicular or prostate cancer. As a club we want to make a stand and take part in Movember. It is a wonderful event and we as a club are proud to take part. I urge everyone to get behind us and raise money and awareness for a fantastic cause”

You can donate or even join in with the club’s efforts by joining the club’s team on our Movember page which can be found here
